Yes. Omegle shut down in November 2023. Tap Random to meet a stranger in seconds, or swipe cards and chat once they accept. Bot checks keep fakes out, and there’s always something to watch together.

Can I watch movies with strangers?

Yes. Join or open a Portal: a live room with a synced player, room chat and reactions. Pick Movies, Shows, Anime, Music, Lofi, Study with me and more. You can also watch YouTube together inside any chat.

Do I need an email or phone number?

No. Pick a nickname and a picture from Pinterest search, or a random look. No email, no real photos.

Who can message me?

Anyone can send you a yes, with a note if they like. It lands in your Requests: accept and you chat, decline and they’re never told. In Random, Next or Stop ends it any time.

Are my chats private?

Messages and files are end-to-end encrypted. Notes sent with a yes aren’t. Chats live on your device. Random chats, Portals and the Board aren’t end-to-end encrypted; Random messages pass through our server and aren’t stored.

What happens if I stop using it?

Your account disappears after 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days of inactivity — you choose. Activity keeps it alive. Once it’s gone, it can’t be recovered.

How does Waku keep bots out?

Bot checks and moderation keep fakes and spammers out. Every visitor passes a Cloudflare check, new accounts have limits, and anyone can be reported or blocked.

Yes. Waku is free. Waku+ adds profile themes, decorations and effects for people who want them.

Do I need to download an app?

No. Waku works in your browser on phones, tablets and computers.
